Explanation of Set Numbers
3-2101-R
3 = Identifies the vehicle manufacturer
2 = Is a general description of the location
of where the set would be installed on the vehicle.

101 = Set Number
R = Color

One interesting thing to note, is that the set number sometimes indicates when it was developed in relationship to other part numbers for that make and model of vehicle. A good example would be a 3-3101 bushing set for 67-69 Camaro or 67-72 Chevelle, was developed before the 3-3172

Black is the only color with 'Graphite Impregnated" into the bushing.
If graphite were added to the Red, Yellow or Blue, or Pink(yuck) it would change the color to an ugly gray tinted bushing.
The 'G' at the end of the part number means black, it does not indicate a grease able bushing.
The reason they use the letter 'G' for black, is because Graphite is mixed into the black bushings.
When Energy Suspension first started making bushings they did not think they needed to make black,
so the letter 'B' was used to indicate a Blue bushings.
The first colors were Red, Yellow and Blue.
It was felt that people wanted to show off the fact that they had high performance polyurethane installed on their vehicle.
Black was reluctantly added, to increase sales of stabilizer frame bushings and grommets to a manufacturer of stabilizer bars(Stam-bar Stabilizers).
Black is now the most popular color.
When Energy Suspension was first established, they made skateboard grommets.
 Stam-bar Stabilizers made spring steel adjustable front & rear swaybars for 65-73 Ford Mustangs and Shelbys.
Stam-bar needed poly urethane sway bar bushings.
The two companies got together and the first universal sway bar frame bushings and Ford style endlink grommets were developed.
Energy Suspension asked Stam-bar for their advice.  What bushings should E.S. make next?
E.S. started by making 50 sets of yellow 65-73 Ford Mustang rear leaf spring bushings.
Stam-bar quickly sold all of these bushings, and Energy Suspension started looking for other cars & trucks, that would benefit from polyurethane bushings.
Energy Suspension is still developing new bushings for cars and trucks.
Stam-bar Stabilizers was the fore-runner to Suspension Restoration Parts Co.  Stam-bar was sold several years ago.  It still exists.
Today, Suspension Restoration Parts Co. just sells polyurethane bushings and other suspension related parts.
We were the first company(as Stam-bar) to sell Energy Suspension black graphite-impregnated poly urethane bushings.
The black graphite impregnated poly urethane bushings were developed, because Stam-bar complained that the plain poly urethane bushings squeaked.
Graphite impregnated bushings were Energy Suspensions solution to this problem.
Suspension Restoration Parts Co. no longer makes sway bars, stabilizer bars or anti-roll bars.
We are the only company that stocks every Energy Suspension black graphite impregnated poly urethane bushing available.
