15.5109 | Rear Sway Bar Bushings - 19.6mm | VW Golf 2010-2014
19.6mm Rear Sway Bar Bushings for 2006-2014 GTI + Other Volkswagen Models
If you've taken a hard fast turn recently in your '06-'14 Volkswagen GTI and were surprised when your rear tires lost traction you might think that you need a larger rear sway bar to keep you connected to the road in a corner. But the problem might be something much smaller; like the rubber bushings holding that sway bar to the frame.
Over time the elements and continual flexing will wear down this rubber and leave you with a hollowed out bushing. When this happens the rear sway bar will shift when you turn and your car will experience body roll. This means your rear tires can lose traction and allow the rear of your car to drift to the outside during a turn.
These 19.6MM Rear Leaf Spring Bushings Fit:
The Durable Solution
One option is to replace those bushings with more rubber, which will reset your ride back to a "like new" feel, but if you want a bushing replacement that will last much, much longer you should take a look at Energy Suspension's 19.6mm polyurethane Rear Sway Bar Bushings. Polyurethane doesn't flex or bend like rubber and will continue to provide a secure grip on the rear sway bar, keeping those rear tires on the ground long after rubber bushings would have let them slide out.
Wear is not the only cause of failed rubber sway bar bushings. Heat, road grime, and auto chemicals can cause rubber to degrade to the point of falling right off your bar, while polyurethane is unaffected by these elements.
The Better Bar Bushing
These bushings not only replace inconsistent rubber bushings but it will also make the stock sway bar on your Audi or Volkswagen perform like a more expensive aftermarket sway bar, all for a fraction of the price of a larger bar. After installing these bushings you will notice a significant reduction in body roll from your Audi or Volkswagen, especially during hard turns or in vehicles with a lot of miles. Also, installation is made much easier with the split design allowing the bushing to slip onto the sway bar and be held on firmly by the bracket.
Energy Suspension's polyurethane bushings will outlast rubber everytime and DST will back them up with a lifetime warranty.
