Throttle Response
The motor mounts hold the motor to the frame, stabilizing the drivetrain and protecting your engine from moving around when you mash the go pedal, but if you're running the original rubber motor mounts then part of that mount is made of rubber. Rubber mounts deflect and allow the engine to move which can throw off your drive train and affect throttle response when you accelerate.
If you really want to firm up the drivetrain you can find solid motor mounts, but those will make a daily drive almost unbearable because of excessive vibration transfer from the engine to the cabin. But what if there was an in-between option that increased stability while still dampening some vibration?

Still hanging in there after 2 years. The motor theyre holding down is a high torque mill in a heavy machine and they are doing ok so far.
