While MOOG greaseable parts come greased from the factory, they should also be greased at the time of installation. After installation, MOOG recommends greasing these parts at each oil change for the best service life.
Out of grease? No problem we've got you covered with this Mystik Multi-Purpose Grease tube refill.
lock Warranty Information keyboard_arrow_down
Moog fulfills their warranty through their individual dealers. That means that in order to receive warranty support, you will have to refer back to the original dealer you purchased the part from. Be sure to check the dealer's warranty support before you buy the part to make sure that they will properly support the warranty. If a dealer will only refer you back to the manufacturer in order to receive warranty support, then you may not actually have any warranty at all.
Part of our warranty process includes reviewing evidence of the defect provided by the customer. This is easily accomplished by providing video or images of the defective part so our staff can verify the claim and move forward with the warranty process. This removes the necessity of shipping the part back to our facility at the customer's expense.
WARRANTY:
Moog Premium Steering Components carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Moog R-Series Control Arms, Hub Assemblies, and Strut Assemblies carry a 3 Year Warranty.
Moog warranties their parts to be free of defects in materials and/or workmanship during these timeframes as measured from the date of purchase.
If a Moog part should fail due to materials or manufacturing defect while under warranty, we will provide a replacement of the part upon return of the defective part.
Wearable RUBBER parts are not covered under warranty (Dust boots, bushings, bump stops, etc.)
Hardened powdered metal bearings and a hardened full ball stud provide the most durable wear surface available
Moog Problem Solver: K5335
The Problem: The front lower ball joint on your SUV/Pick up has experienced premature wear
Due to the size of your SUV or truck, the wheel and tire assemblies have to be larger which results in taller ride height. Ultimately the load from simply turning gets transferred into the ball joints causing radial deflection (or sideways movement), stress and wear on the bearing surface. The OE one-piece housing seal has failed, allowing contaminants to get in. You never had to worry about this before and were excited when you got your SUV or pick up. Good news, DST can help you enjoy your vehicle once again with Moog Problem Solver K5335.
The Solution: Moog's Problem Solver: K5335
Moog Part Number K5335 utilizes a hardened powdered-metal bearing design that allows grease to flow through the bearing surface and onto the stud. This porous material allows continual lubrication to flush harmful contaminants off the bearing and stud surfaces, reducing wear and increasing performance.
Strength and Durability
Moog designed this ball joint with a metallurgical structure for additional strength and durability. Split bearing technology eliminates excessive radial deflection normally experienced with high lateral loads. A Belleville washer preload provides lower stud articulation torque with minimal axial clearance. A special flange style boot was designed to keep contamination out and provides a serviceable option.

- Question:
- Moog-k5335 - Front Lower Ball Joint - I just received a k5335 w/out the sealed boot w/ grease relief valve! The instructions in the box say a pre-installed integral dust boot. Is this the same thing or am I missing parts?
- Answer:
- Moog-K5335 will have the integrated dust boot, which is built into the ball joint housing. You should be able to see it at the base of the ball joint stud, it almost looks like a rubber seal at the bottom of the ball joint stud.
- Question:
- I have the k5335 ball joint. I want to replace grease fighting with a straight fitting. Can you tell me the threads are they metric or standard, thanks?
- Answer:
- Moog grease zerk threads are 1/4x28 US standard on their ball joints and tie rods.
- Question:
- The K5335 has an integral boot, but can this wear out and cause joint failure?
- Answer:
- Any part can fail. Moog has used the integral dust boot for the last 2+ years. We not seen any issue with them failing like the external dust boots.
