moog-k7469 | Front Lower Ball Joint | Dodge Charger | MOOG-K7469

Fits Left or Right Side. Adjustable Ball Joint. Plus or minus 1-1/2 degrees of camber or caster

K7469 allows non-adjustable vehicles to become fully adjustable for front caster and camber

Moog Problem Solver: K7469

The Problem:I need to adjust the camber or caster on the front lower ball joint but provisions do not allow for it

The OE front lower ball joint of the Chrysler 300, Challenger, Charger, and Magnum was not designed with provisions that allow for caster/camber adjustments to be made when your vehicle needs an adjustment Also, the OE design is not serviceable (meaning it cannot be greased) and contaminants can cause premature wear due to corrosion. If the front lower ball joint becomes bad enough and you need to replace it, you cannot. The OE replacement is only available as a part of an assembly with the knuckle. Basically, if the OE front lower ball joint needs work, it cannot be done, it along with the steering knuckle have to be replaced. Here at DST we know how frustrating that can be and have a solution: Moog Problem Solver K7469.

The Solution: Moog's Problem Solver: K7469

Moog's line of problem solver parts target factory defects or poor original design, replacing them with a better more durable part. Moog designed a front lower ball joint that has a fast and easy "on vehicle" replacement. This Moog Problem Solver will save you valuable time and get your vehicle back in alignment: K7469

Fully Adjustable

Moog engineered this Problem Solver to allow "non-adjustable" vehicles to become fully adjustable for front cast and camber from -1 to +1 degrees. Future adjustments can be made with a simple turn of the ball stud. This eliminates the need to replace the ball joint again if it becomes out of alignment. K7469 comes as a separate component, so there's no need in replacing the steering knuckle if it's sound. This saves you time, money and unnecessary stress. Moog added a greaseable design to Moog part number K7469 to allow contaminants to be flushed out for longer service life. question_answer Customer Questions and Answers

Question:
What is the orientation of the offset for pressing in the new ball joint..offset toward engine..towards wheel..etc
Answer:
Repair Procedure: Remove and replace the non-adjustable upper ball joint with a MOOG® Problem Solver adjustable ball joint. In many cases, the ball joints are pressed into the steering knuckle or control arm and are difficult to remove and install, , especially with age. Many technicians beat and hammer the ball joints out and back in. This is very time-consuming and can damage the steering knuckle and the new ball joint. It is recommended that a MOOG Problem Solver Tool is used to press out the old ball joint and press in the new one. (Several tools are available from your MOOG distributor.) The MOOG Problem Solver adjustable ball joint allows “non-adjustable” vehicles to become fully adjustable for front camber and caster. It also:• Allows for most combinations of camber and caster, from -1 to +1 degrees. • Designed for fast and easy “on-vehicle” replacement. • Re-adjustable if needed future adjustments can be easily made with a simple turn of the ball stud. ...see more

Question:
How are the lower ball joints adjusted?
Answer:
Install the ball joint in the spindle. Attach lower control arm to the tapered stud. Do not tighten the nut yet. Take out the oversize grease zerk and use an allen wrench or bit to adjust the camber.

Question:
How many quantities of ball joints come in a kit for the part K7469?
Answer:
One ball joint comes in the kit. You will need to get two ball joints to complete your suspension on your vehicle. Part K7469 fit both left and right side.
