Rear Differential Mount Kit 2015-2017 Mustang GT, V6, EcoBoost
This kit includes the Rear Differential Mounts and the hardware necessary for installation on the 2015-2017 Mustang. The original rubber differential mounts on the GT, V6, and EcoBoost absorb vibrations from the drivetrain but they also flex and allow the differential to move which affects throttle response and can even cause wheel hop on a hard launch, but this kit will firm up that connection and keep the drivetrain secure.
The Weak Spot in your Rear Suspension
The rubber differential mounts that come stock on the IRS Mustangs are great for daily commuting, but if you just can't resist any chance for a quick takeoff then you might need something stronger. If you like to frequent the Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, TX then you definitely want a firmer connection between the rear differential and the subframe.
When you mash the go pedal everything from the engine to the rear tire's contact patch wants to move and when you have rubber bushings holding the drivetrain you could get some excess movement that is pulling power from that takeoff. You could use solid aluminum mounts, which are the most secure, but these can make a trip on anything rougher than tarmac almost unbearable.
Performance and Polyelast
This Polyurethane Rear Differential Bushing Kit will hold the differential firmly in place and keep power moving to the wheels without soaking it up by flexing like rubber bushings. SuperPro uses polyurethane and a unique elastomer called Polyelast to give you a stiff differential connection without adding excess cabin noise and vibration. Polyelast has some of the vibration absorption properties of rubber but retains its shape roughly 15 times longer so your alignment stays secure.
The result is quicker throttle response and less chance of wheel hop since the differential won't jump when you hit the gas or brakes. This kit is covered with SuperPro's lifetime warranty that includes racing applications, so if you're abusing your pony on the track every weekend you can count on these bushings to stay strong, and Suspension.com will handle that warranty for you in-house.
The Next Level
If you're looking to further firm up the rear of the drivetrain you should look into SuperPro's Rear Subframe Bushings for the 2015-2017 Mustangs. Since the rear subframe holds the differential and is a connection point for the rear control arms you will notice a much tighter and more responsive rear end with these upgrades.
SuperPro also offers a Rear Differential and Subframe Mount Kit, which gives you both parts at a discount for the racing enthusiast that demands the best handling their Mustang can give while retaining ride quality.
