The two different colors are essentially the same at a formula level. Some black components are graphite impregnated as a self-lubricating agent, but overall they are the same part. Graphite is not added to the red formula simply because it changes the color of the bushing.
Bushing hardness by color?
The Durometer (or hardness) of red and black bushings are the same for that position. The different colors do not indicate a higher or lower durometer.
Why buy red bushings?
Red or black bushings is almost entirely an aesthetic choice, there is no real functional difference between the two. Some who drive their vehicles especially hard (track, rally, etc.) sometimes use red bushings because it is easier to see any damage that the bushing might have suffered from extreme conditions.
Are there other bushing colors?
Energy Suspension used to have Yellow and Blue options but they stopped producing components in these colors a long time ago and they are no longer available on the market.

Do you have a Standard or Wide Track Axle?
Ford Super Duty trucks built with the Wide Track front axle use outer tie rod ends with larger diameter threads than trucks without it. The two sizes are not interchangeable, so you need to know which axle your truck has before ordering. The drag link and adjusting sleeve also differ between the two axles, so your answer here sets all of those parts at once.
How to tell which axle you have
Measure the tie rod end threads. This is the most reliable check. Measure the diameter of the threaded portion of your current outer tie rod end. 1-3/8 inch means no Wide Track. 1-9/16 inch means Wide Track. See the photos below.
Look at the front fenders. 2011-2016 F-350s with the Wide Track axle generally have large front fender flares, like the ones standard on the F-450.
Check the option sticker on the driver door jamb. RPO code 535 (tow package) on an F-350 means the truck has the Wide Track axle.
Know the pattern. Wide Track is standard on the F-450 and was optional on dual rear wheel (DRW) F-350s with the tow package for 2011-2016. Most single rear wheel F-350s do not have it.
